I don’t know when.
Each day the time moves nearer.
My past life seems farther away.
Always knew it would happen,
someday I would die.

It killed me, life.
Hiding from certainty.
Uncertain of the unknown,
but, yet I knew,
Someday I would die.

Happened for others,
who taught me well,
that no one escapes.
A surety at birth that,
Someday I will die.
