Summer: Please Come Back

Summer’s twilight,
July and August,
cast upon my youth.

Time away,
from frozen school days,
learning to play.

You moved too fast,
when you took so long to get here.
Slow yourself.

My heart warmed,
as I thought about you,
when I wished you back again.

I watched you come and go,
summertime and the years gone by.
How I wish you back again,

in the twilight of my life.

In response to Zev’s great prompt, summer: luminism. Thank you Harper and Kathy for keeping this going.
